Hillcrest board meeting

Village officials in Hillcrest this week approved a zoning proposal dealing with property located near the corner of Linda Avenue and Wayne Road.

An asphalt plant had once done business at the location as the land was zoned for light commercial use. Following a public hearing, the village board voted to rezone the area for residential use.

Hillcrest officials talked about bonds which would be needed dealing with the water system. The price tag for the project would be around 6 million, 250 thousand dollars.

This would include a second water tower that would hold 200,000 gallons and water main replacements with a diameter between 6 to 12 inches.

The new water tower could be located on the north side of the village, possibly in the Windover subdivision.

No action was taken on the bond issue.

The village is also looking at updating their comprephensive plan for future growth in the community.
