(Rochelle Elementary Superintendent Todd Prusator)
The Rochelle elementary board approved salary increases for the administrators and the non-certified employees in the district last night.
The administrators will receive a pay hike of $2,000 which is consistent with the increases for teachers in their 4-year contract.
Hourly non-certified workers will see a pay increase of 40 cents a hour, the same as last year. Salary employees will have their pay check rise by $2,000.
A public hearing was held involving the amendment to the fiscal year 2017 budget. Superintendent Todd Prusator said that the district is looking at a deficit between 800,000 to a million dollars in the education fund.
They received only 2 of the 4 categorical payments that total around a half million dollars. Prusator does not expect a budget to be approved by state lawmakers by the end of the month.
Employment for the next school year included Catherine Weden as a 3rd grade teacher at Tilton School. Jodee Craven and Tony Wyatt were rehired as Hub Program manager and site coordinator. The district still needs to apply for the 21st Century Grant for this program.
Their contracts will be terminated on December 31st if the district does not receive the grant.
Mary Jo Moreland was reappointed as district treasurer while the teacher's computer buy plan was approved for the 18th consecutive year.
