No one hurt after train hits car in Rochelle

No one suffered any injuries last night after a train struck a car in Rochelle. The driver was arrested for DUI.

The accident took place a short time before 9 on 1st Avenue near Poplar Street.

Reports indicate that a car driven by 36-year old Natalie Fenwick of Creston was traveling eastbound on 1st Avenue. Police said that she then turn left on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks and the car got stuck.

Fenwick then got out of the car.

A short time later, a BNSF train struck the rear of the vehicle. The train pushed the car about 70 feet west of the tracks following impact.

Fenwick was not hurt from the incident. She was arrested by Rochelle police on the charge of DUI.
