A Stillman Valley man pled not guilty in Ogle County court yesterday following an altercation that took place on April 20th.
29-year old Jacob Gomez was arrested on the Class 2 felony offense of aggravated domestic battery and the Class 4 felony of domestic battery and unlawful restraint.
Gomez was also wanted on a Lee County warrant for contempt of court.
The arrest stems from an investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Police of a domestic battery that occurred at the Marathon gas station in Stillman Valley. The female victim did receive treatment at a Rockford hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She was allegedly strangled during the confrontation.
In court yesterday, Gomez waived his preliminary hearing and demanded a jury trial. He returns to court on June 9th for a pre-trial conference.
Gomez remains in the Ogle County jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
