Interviews are expected to take place next month dealing with the hiring of a new city manager for Rochelle.
City officials are looking for a replacement involving Davd Plyman who was not rehired last March. Sue Messer is the current interim city manager.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson talked about the hiring process for the position. He said the deadline they will accept resumes is June 12th. The city has already received several for the position.
Mayor Olson said that a committee will be formed that includes himself, a council member, and staff. They will look over all of the applications. Each council member can also look over the candidates.
The mayor said that a top 10 list will be formed. That list will be narrowed down to 5 individuals who will be interviewed by the council.
Human Resource Coordinator Nancy Bingham has been in charge of putting together a schedule for the hiring process. Applications went out to Illinois along with Wisconsin and Iowa.
The city has until September 22nd under state regulations to name a new city manager.
