Rockford is getting a brand new library, and taxpayers are getting a break. ComEd officials yesterday announced the company will spend as much as 33-million dollars to build a new library.
ComEd isn't acting out of pure generosity. The new library is part of a settlement between ComEd and Illinois environmental regulators over polluted soil underneath Rockford's current library site.
