Ogle County Sheriff's Police arrested 2 Rochelle residents following a car burglary in the Woodlawn Acres Subdivision on Monday.
22-year old Juan Gutierrez has been charged with the felony offense of burglary to a motor vehicle and resisting a peace officer. 36-year old Elva Cruz was also arrested on the misdemeaor offense of resisting police.
Sheriff's police received word this week of the car burglary in progress in the Woodlawn Acres Subdivision. When the deputy arrived on the scene, Gutierrez and Cruz fled the area on foot.
They were later apprehended in a field north of the subdivision.
Gutierrez remains in jail today in lieu of a $25,000 bond. He returns to court on Friday for an arraignment.
Cruz will appear in court on the misdemeanor offense at a later date.
