Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson thanked Plyman for his nearly 6 years with the city. He believed that the city moved in the right direction while he was city manager.

Plyman plans to sign the severance agreement today. He will get 6 months of his salary along with insurance benefits. He said it's the agreement he approved when he was first hired as city manager. Plyman's yearly salary is just under $125,000.

Plyman said he is a career city manager and does not plan to retire.

Mayor Olson said that the city has 14 days to named an interim city manager. They also have 6 months to hired a person for the position.
