The Rochelle City Council will meet in special session this evening at 5:30 as the discussion will center around the city manager's position.
David Plyman has been city manager in Rochelle since May 31st of 2011. He is the 5th city manager for the Hub City.
Plyman told WRHL that he has worked on a separation agreement with the city officials.
The agenda for the special meeting has the approval of a severance agreement with Plyman.
City officials did meet in closed session on March 13th to talk about personnel, but no action was taken in public.
The council plans to meet in executive session this evening to talk about personnel and pending or threatening litigation prior to the approval of the severance agreement. This portion of the meeting is closed to the public.
Plyman has been city manager for nearly 6 years, the longest term out of the 5 city managers for Rochelle.
