2 motorists escaped serious injuries yesterday evening following a 2-vehicle crash in Ogle County in which a truck caught on fire.
The accident took place a short time after 5 at the intersection of Route 64 and Chana Road.
Reports indicate that a car driven by 92-year old Lyle Deuth of Chana was traveling southbound on Chana Road and failed to yield for an eastbound pick-up truck on Route 64 driven by 56-year old James Madsen of West Chicago.
The pick-up truck overturned following the crash and then caught on fire.
Deuth and Madsen refused medical treatment at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation. Illinois State Police assisted deputies from the Ogle County Sheriff's Department at Route 64 and Chana Road.
