2 Rockford men plead not guilty to home invasion and shooting in Hillcrest

2 Rockford men pled not guilty in Ogle County court yesterday after being arrested in connection with a home invasion and shooting incident last month in Hillcrest.

23-year old Eddie Blaylock and 21-year old Rayvon Motton have been charged with 3 counts of home invasion, aggravated battery, and 2 counts of armed robbery.

Both men have been indicted by an Ogle County grand jury.

The incident took place on the night of January 24th in the 200 block of Jeffrey Avenue in Hillcrest. The homeowner was shot in the stomach area by a handgun. He was treated for his injury at a Rockford Hospital.

Both Blaylock and Motton appeared in court for an arraignment yesterday and demanded jury trials. Motton returns to court on February 27th for a jury staus call while Blaylock has a pre-trial conference set for March 13th in Oregon.

Bond was original set at $500,000 for both men. Blaylock's bond was reduced to $150,000 yesterday while Motton saw his number drop to $250,000. Both men remain in jail.

A 3rd subject from the home invasion and shooting remains at large. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 18-year old Casimir, aka "Loonie", Williams.
