Due to the lack of a state budget, the Rochelle elementary school district is currently owed around $855,000. The state aid goes back to the last school year.
Last night, the board aproved the intra-fund loan from working cash to the transportation fund that total just over $252,300.
Superintendent Todd Prusator said that the lack of a state budget has had an impact on all school districts in Illinois. The lack of money is located in the general and transportation funds.
Prusator does not expect any agreement will be reached soon in Springfield. He said there could be a change in the school aid formula.
The district plans to purchase a new bus that will hold 18 passengers. With trade-in, the cost for the district will be $36, 318.
School officials met in executive session to talk about personnel in the district. No action was taken.
