Rockford man is indicted following home invasion and shooting incident in Hillcrest

A Rockford man has been indicted by an Ogle County grand jury following a home invasion and shooting incident last month in Hillcrest.

21-year old Rayvon Motton has been charged with 3 counts of home invasion, aggravated battery, and 2 counts of armed robbery.

Authorities have also arrested 23-year old Eddie Blaylock of Rockford on the same charges. A warrant arrest for home invasion has also been issued against 18-year old Casimir, aka "Loonie", Williams. He remains at large.

The altercation took place on the night of January 24th in the 200 block of Jeffrey Avenue in Hillcrest. The homeowner was shot in the stomach area by a handgun. He was treated for his injury at a Rockford hospital.

The motive behind the home invasion and shooting has not been released at this time by Ogle County officials.

Motton remains in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond. He returns to court for a bond hearing next Wednesday in Oregon.
