Hillcrest officials talk about the village's water system last night

Village officials in Hillcrest expect to have some information next month from a water study involving the community. The study will not exceed $28,000 as the village tries to correct the pressure and rust problems in the water system.

Jim Sparber from Baxter and Woodman in DeKalb said that they need to know when the water mains in the village were installed. Flow testing will be done in about 2 weeks at 6 to 8 locations in Hillcrest. The preliminary results will be known in March.

The village has also talked with RMU about being a back-up supply for water in the future. A meeting is scheduled for February 22nd. Board President Steve Dodson said they need a back-up plan due to having only 1 water tower in the village.

The policies and procedures item on the agenda was tabled last night. Dodson also wants all the trustees to put together a wish list of projects for the next 4 years in Hillcrest. This would include the village's water and sanitary sewer systems.

The board met for around 45 minutes to talk about personnel and litigation. No action was taken.
