DeKalb County officials have released the name of the DeKalb teen who suffered fatal injuries Tuesday night in an alcohol related head-on crash.
18-year old Johnathon Ode was pronounced dead at the scene.
DeKalb County Sheriff's Police report that a pick-up truck driven by 25-year old John Yanni of St. Charles was westbound on Route 38 when it collided head-on with a car driven by Ode who was eastbound near Cortland.
A passenger in the Ode vehicle, 23-year old Evan Cortez of Elgin, was transported to a Rockford Hospital with serious injuries.
2 other drivers were also involved in the crash. They refused medical treatment at the scene.
Yanni was transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb with non-life
threatening injuries. He was also arrested on the charge of DUI and improper lane usage.
The crash remains under investigation by DeKalb County Sheriff's Police. They are working with the State's Attorney's office and reviewing the facts in the case to see if any other charges will be filed.
