The U.S. Justice Department's civil rights probe of the Chicago Police Department is expected to wrap up soon. Investigators have been racing to complete their assessment of police use of force policies and accountability before the Obama administration leaves office.
Their conclusions could come next week, but Mayor Emanuel says he's already making changes designed to help cops be effective. He says additional training, new technology and increased transparency will enhance officers' ability to do their jobs.
The investigation was launched after the release of the Laquan McDonald police shooting video 14 months ago.
