A Rochelle man received a sentence of 2 years in the Department of Corrections yesterday after he pled guilty in Ogle County court involving 2 felonies.
26-year old James Salazar was arrested on the charge of criminal trespass to a residence and retail theft.
The trespass incident took place in May of last year. Salazar was also charged with child abduction from the confrontation. The offense was dismissed by the state due to the guilty plea agreement.
The retail theft also took place last May in Rochelle at a local business.
Salazar also pled guilty to the misdemeanor charges of DUI and resisting a police officer.
Reports indicate that he ran from police involving the obstruction altercation following a domestic battery incident. That charge was dismissed by the state due to the guilty plea agreement.
Salazar was also sentenced to 1 year mandatory supervised release once he completes his sentence in prison.
