A Winnebago County judge has found a Rockford woman not guilty by reason of insanity in the stabbing death of her eight-year-old son in 2013.
Judge John Lowry referred to psychiatric reports that Jody Kossow was criminally insane on September 10th, 2013 when she killed her son Thomas, claiming that he was a danger to the family because witchcraft was involved in his birth.
A later hearing will determine whether Kossow will be committed to a state psychiatric facility.
