Village officials in Creston received a favorable report last night on the fiscal year 2016 Audit.
Tom Winebaugh of Rochelle gave his yearly presentation to the board on the financial status for the village. Board President Tom Byro said that the village saw a slight increase in revenue and remain in the black when it comes to spending money.
The village received a good rating from the audit.
Byro also talked about what big projects will take place in the new budget. The majority of the work will be to improve the conditions of the streets in Creston.
Adam Heal of Query Insurance in Rochelle gave a report on the coverage for the village. Premiums will rise by 3 percent for Creston or an additional $500.
The village also plans to update their building code which will match other communities in the area for future development. The issue was tabled last night.
