Services will continue for area residents from the Lee-Ogle Transportation System after the organization received state funds yesterday.
LOTS received $247,000 from bills owed by the state that involves the 4th quarter of the 2016 fiscal year. This includes the months of April, May, and June of this year.
Operations will continue this month after services were reduced on November 1st. Officials from LOTS say that the state money will keep operations going for the next 2 or 3 months for area residents.,
Questions remain for many area organizations who rely on state money due to the lack of a budget. The stopgap budget comes to an end on December 31st.
LOTS receives money to keep their transportation services going from state and federals grants along with local funds. It provided nearly 80,000 rides last year for area residents.
It began offering rides in Ogle and Lee counties 10 years ago.
Their reduced hours will continue. They will offer rides Monday through Friday from 7am until 4pm.
The old hours were from 6am until 6pm weekdays.
