(Ceremony for Ogle County board members following November General Election)
Kim Gouker of Byron was elected for a third term as the Ogle County board chairman last night.
The vote was 17-7 in favor of Gouker.
Dorothy Bowers of Byron had also been nominated for the position. The vote was 16-8 against her being the chairwoman of the board.
Gouker has held this position for the past 4 years. He said there are several goals and projects the county board will be faced with during the next 12 months. The include unity of the county officials, construction of the new jail, renovation work invovling the facility in dowtown Rochelle, and union negotiations.
John Frinfrock of Mt. Morris was re-elected as Vice Chairman of the board.
The winners from the November General Election began their term in office last night for the Ogle County Board. They Include:
District 1: Rick Fritz anbd Zach Oltmanns
District 2: Wayne Reising and Tom Smith
District 3: Greg Sparrow and Garrett Williams
District 4: Skip Kenney and Kim Whalen
District 5: Marty Typer and Don Griffin
District 6: Dorothy Bowers and Kim Gouker
District 7: Ron Colson and John Frinfrock
District 8: Pat Saunders and Marcia Heuer
The committees will be finalized during the Ogle County board meeting on December 20th.
Winners from the November General Election also were sworn-in to the Lee County board on Monday.
68-year old Jim Wentling of Dixon was voted at the new chairman of the board. He replaces Rick Ketchum who held the position for the past 4 years. Ketchum was a county board member for 17 years. He decided not to run for another term.
Marilyn Shippert was elected as vice chairwoman of the Lee County board.
