A Rochelle man is back on the streets today after being arrested on drug charges Saturday afternoon following a traffic stop at 1st Avenue and Illinois 251 in the Hub City.
65-year old Paul Williams was arrested on the felony offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and the misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia possession.
Police seized a small amount of crack cocaine during the arrest. The Rochelle K-9 Unit assisted in the traffic stop.
Williams was originally stopped for disobeying a stop sign which he also received a ticket for.
He appeared before an Ogle County Judge on Sunday when bond was set at $5,000. Williams was able to post 10 percent or $500 of the bond and was released from jail.
He returns to court for a hearing on January 6th in Oregon.
