A massive energy bill aiming to save two nuclear power plants in Illinois is headed to Governor Rauner's desk after being approved by state legislators Thursday. The measure, which Rauner has indicated he will sign, will keep Exelon plants in Clinton and the Quad Cities open for the next ten years, saving 15-hundred full-time jobs.
ComEd and Ameren customers will see an increase in monthly bills, but the rates will be capped. The bill also requires new investments to be made in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
