The holiday spirit will be in Rochelle this evening as the Annual Old Fashioned Christmas Walk will be held.
One of the highlights tonight will be the Lighted Parade which begins at 5:30. The parade travels through the downtown area and ends at City Hall for the Community Tree Lighting ceremony.
A new event this year is the Christmas Market that will feature arts, crafts, and vendors inside the Living Water Community Church at 405 North Main Street from 4 until 8 today and from 9 until 2 on Saturday.
The Flagg Township Museum will be open from 4 until 8 as Santa plans to make a visit for the kids.
There will be horse and carriage rides in the downtown area and the VFW Women's Auxiliary will have a craft and vendor show today from 4 until 8 and on Saturday from 8 until 4.
There will be plenty of food for people to enjoy this evening. The Rochelle Fire Department will have their pork chop sandwiches, the Masonic Temple will have chilli and soup dinners, and the Hub City Senior Center will have a dinner.
The Flagg Township library will also have an open house for area residents.
The Rochelle Middle School chorus will be singing carols at City Hall. The annual Gratitude Award will also be announced following the tree lighting ceremony.
