The Ogle County Sheriff's Department have made some changes during traffic stop since the recent shootings that have taken place involving police officers around the country.
The killings have made officers more aware when they make contact with a driver and passengers inside a car. Sheriff Brian VanVickle said they have taken several stops for safety involving the officers. They include status checks and knowing their location at all times.
Sheriff VanVickle was a guest this week on the program "Let The People Know". He said that they may begin a program in the near future dealing with traffic tickets. They will work with the Circuit Clerk's office for E-Ticketing involving traffic stops.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on WRHL and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on WRHL and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
