Rochelle residents have 1 more day to file their petitions for the next city election.
Names on the ballot so far are Councilman Dan McDermott, John Bearrows, John Gruben and Kathryn Shaw-Dickey.
Rochelle has 3 council members whose 4 year term comes to an end next April. The city officials are Dave Eckhardt, Kathy Hollonbeck, and McDermott. Eckhardt will not run for a 4th term in office after 12 years as a city official.
Petitions and supporting documents can be picked up in the Rochelle City Clerk's office.
The petitions can be filed on Monday until 5pm.
The consolidated election will be held on April 4th of 2017. If necessary, a consolidated primary election will take place in Rochelle on February 28th of next year.
The primary would be held if Rochelle has 13 or more candidates running for the 3 council positions.
There will be a lottery on November 29th to determine ballot positions for McDermott and Bearrows. Both filed their petitions at the same time last Monday. The lottery is open to the public.
