The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District will begin a program in 2017 with the Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association. This would involve special need individuals from children to adults.
Interim park district Executive Director Roger Bunger said that they need to sign the papers with the organization to begin the services on January 1st. DeKalb, Sycamore, and Genoa are also involved with the program.
The 2017 tax levy ordinance was approved last night with no increase from a year ago. The tax rate for the park district will also remain the same.
There will be no ice fishing this winter at Lake Sule and Spring Lake. Signs will be posted.
Park officials plan to go out for bids for upgrading the garage at VFW Park. They also plan to receive bids for the purchase of a new pick-up truck. The park district also plans to sell a 2002 4-door Dodge car and a van.
Park officials met in executive session to talk about personnel. No action was taken.
