Rochelle city election (Updated)

4 local residents filed petitions Monday for the next city election in Rochelle.

Incumbent Dan McDermott along with John Bearrows, John Gruben, and Kathryn Shaw-Dickey will have their name on the ballot.

Rochelle has 3 council members whose 4 year term comes to an end next April. The city officials are Dave Eckhardt, Kathy  Hollonbeck, and McDermott.

There will be a lottery between Bearrows and McDermott to determine ballot positions since they filed at the same time yesterday morning.

Petitions and supporting documents can be picked up in the Rochelle City Clerk's office.

The petitions can be filed today through November 28th at 5pm.

The consolidated election will be held on April 4th of 2017. If necessary, a consolidated primary election will take place in Rochelle on February 28th of next year.

The primary would be held if Rochelle has 13 or more candidates running for the 3 council positions.
