A Rochelle man suffered minor injuries last night after he hydroplaned the car he was driving in a single vehicle crash.
The accident took place at the intersection of Steward and Ritchie Roads a short time before 6.
A 2007 Chevy Impala driven by 42-year old Darrick Dickinson of Rochelle was traveling northbound on Steward Road and did not slow down for the curve in the pavement at Ritchie Road.
Rochelle police say that the vehicle hydroplaned over Ritchie Road and traveled through a ditch before coming to a stop when it struck a pole.
There was damage to a stop sign at the intersection.
Dickinson refused medical treatment at the scene.
He was also ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
