An East Moline man will do some time in prison following a vehicle and foot chase with Ogle County Sheriff's Police last spring.
28-year old Tyrell Taylor has pled guilty to the Class 4 felony of fleeing to elude police.
The incident took place last April in the 5,000 block of North River Road near Byron. Deputies attempted to stop a car driven by Taylor.
He would not stop for police and fled south on River Road towards Oregon. After traveling on several county roads, Taylor got back on River Road.
"Stop Sticks" were place at the intersection of River and German Church Roads. Taylor's car struck the "stop sticks" along with 2 road signs at the intersection as his car came to a stop in the ditch.
Taylor then took off running. He was apprehended a short time later in the 7,000 block of German Church Road.
Taylor was sentenced to 2 and a half years in prison along with 1 year mandatory supervised release.
He must also pay fees and court costs of just under $2,000.
