2 Hillcrest men were back in Ogle County court yesterday following a home invasion incident that took place on October 10th in the 900 block of Lakeview Drive in Rochelle.
18-year old Conor Smith along with 21-year old Keegan Akers have been charged with the Class "X" felony offense of home invasion and the Class 2 felony charge of robbery.
Other charges include criminal trespass and damage to property.
Also arrested during the incident was 21-year old Besim Ajazi of Hillcrest.
No weapons were used during the robbery. The victims did know the 3 men as money was taken from the home. No one suffered any injuries.
Smith returns to court on November 2nd for a preliminary hearing. At that time, he will plead guilty or innocent to the charges. Smith remains in jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Akers waived his preliminarying hearing yesterday and pled not guilty to the charges. He also demanded a jury trial.
Akers returns to court next Wednesday for a status hearing. His bond has been reduced from $500,000 to $300,000 as he remains in jail.
