City officials in Rochelle will meet tonight at 7 with only a few items on the agenda.
The council meeting will take place at City Hall.
The discussion will include a new parking ordinance for Brookside Drive. The proposal would prohibit parking on the entire west side of the street.
City Engineer Sam Tesreau says that the mailboxes and fire hydrants are located on the west side of Brookside Drive and the east side has fewer driveways.
The ordinance would also prohibit parking on the east side for 100 feet north of Route 38.
Residents in the neighborhood had talked with city official in July about the parking problems which included the ability of emergency vehicles to navigate down the street.
The Rochelle City Council will meet tomorrow night due to the Columbus Day holiday today.
Tonight's meeting is open to the public.
