Children in the Oregon school district will have a new playground to enjoy by the end of the month or first week in October.
School officials approved the purchase at a cost of $94,000 as the new playground will be located behind the Oregon Elementry School where project play had been located.
The wooden playground was demolished earlier this summer due to safety concerns involving the children. It was constructed in October of 1989.
Superintendent Tom Mahoney said that the new playground was designed by the students and is made of plastic.
