City officials in Rochelle met for a short period of time last night with only a few items on the agenda.
In a 7-0 vote, the council approved a track use agreement between the city and Ryder Integrated Logistics, LLC.
There are currently over 10,000 railcars per year. City Manager David Plyman said that negotiations had been going on for several months. The agreement goes through April of 2018.
City Engineer Sam Tesreau mentioned last night that 20th Street will be open next week as it has been closed to traffic for over 3 months. The project included the widening of the street and sanitary sewer work.
Final surface work will be done in 2017.
Tesreau said that the street will be open next Monday, late in the afternoon.
The Rochelle Street Department did the work on the roadway.
