Former Governor Rod Blagojevich is turning to the federal appeals court to have his corruption sentence reduced. His attorneys today filed a notice that he'll appeal Judge James Zagel's refusal to cut his 14-year term, even though five of the 18 counts on which he was convicted were overturned.
In a video appearance at a Chicago hearing earlier this month, Blagojevich apologized and pleaded for leniency, but Judge Zagel ruled that the sentence was not out of line given Blagojevich's breach of the public's trust.
