Several Accidents on I-39 Wednesday

Illinois State Police investigated a two vehicle accident on I-39 in Ogle County Wednesday afternoon.  A vehicle driven by 66 year old Susan Warren of Wausau, Wisconsin was stopped in traffic in the left lane, when a vehicle driven by 19 year old Daniel Jacob of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin failed to slow because of traffic and struck the Warren vehicle, pushing it into the right ditch.  Warren and a passenger were transported to Rochelle Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.  Jacob was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.


State Police were called to another two vehicle accident on I-39 in Ogle County.  Police say two semis collided in the construction zone.  A truck driven by 62 year old Terry Pennington of Indianapolis struck a truck driven by 35 year old Daniel Cornelius of Loves Park.  Cornelius was transported to a Rockford Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.  Pennington was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.


And State Police investigated another two vehicle crash on I-39 in Ogle County Wednesday afternoon.  A white semi was travelling north in the left lane, when a vehicle driven by 48 year old Robin Novack of Rochelle attempted to pass in the right lane.  The semi changed lanes and struck the Novack vehicle and it went into the ditch.  The driver of the semi left the scene without stopping.
