A Morrison man died from injuries following a two vehicle accident at 10:22 Monday night on Route 30 at Emerson Road. Illinois State Police report that a Whiteside County Sheriff's Office squad car driven by 33 year old Jeffrey Wunderlich was taveling eastbound on Route 30 approaching Emerson Road. A motorcycle, ridden by 58 year old William Damhoff of Morrison was traveling westbound on Route 30 at Emerson Road. The squad car attempted to make a left turn onto Emerson Road when the Damhoff motorcycle struck the passenger side of the squad car. Both men were transported to a Sterling Hospital where Damhoff later died from his injuries. Wunderlich was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Turning Left. State Police were assisted at the scene by the Sterling Fire Department and the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office. The crash investigation is continueing.
