The Rochelle Township High School board received an update report last night on the emergency plan for the building. The staff met with Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle earlier this month to go over security procedures along with evacuation plans.
Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the discussion centered around communication with the first responders in the building. He said they continue to make changes in the plan considering the violence around the country these days.
Resignations last night included Christine Jeffers as Physical Education teacher along with assistant coach in girls volleyball and basketball along with Nicole Renardo at Focus House.
Employment included Mark Klouse as Head of Maintenance, Linda Hoover as a family consumer science teacher, Susan Naylor in special education, Molly Sly as a P.E. teacher, and Tim Bowerman at Focus House.
Substitute teachers will receive a pay raise of 10 dollars per day. They will not receive $85 each day this fall at RTHS.
The board took no action on a resolution in opposing the Great Lakes Basin Railroad project. It lacked a second motion for a vote.
441 classes were recently completed in the summer school program which ended last week at RTHS.
