A meeting was held recently as the discussion centered around the future of the Hickory Grove Banquet and Conference Center in Rochelle.
The gathering was attended by city and county officials along with representatives from Abraham's Bar and Grille and Rochelle Swim and Fitness.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Mayor Chet Olson talked about certain projects that need to be taken care of in the future for the facility. They plan to put together a list which includes painting, carpet repairs, along with the air conditioning and heating unit upgrades.
Mayor Olson said that neither of the tenants gave any indications of leaving the facility. He also stressed the importance of the building being open in Rochelle. He said its the only civic center in town which includes an indoor swimming pool and meeting rooms.
