Bond set at $150,000 for Rochelle man in residential burglary case

An Ogle County judge set bond at $150,000 yesterday for a Rochelle man following a break-in to an apartment Sunday afternoon.

22-year old Skylar Brown has been arrested on the felony charge of residential burglary.

The incident took place at an apartment in the 300 block of North 7th Street. Police say that Brown took some prescription pills along with lottery tickets and tobacco from the residence.

A witness told police who had been in the apartment. Brown was taken into custody a few blocks away from the burglary.

He returns to court on Friday for a hearing in Oregon. Brown remains in jail in lieu of the $150,000 bond.

He also has a prior burglary conviction which took place in 2013.
