Rochelle man back in court in sexual abuse case

Bond remains at $250,000 for a Rochelle man in connection with an alleged sexual abuse incident in the Hub City.

26-year old Jesse Wendel has been charged with the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The alleged altercation took place early last Sunday morning. The female victim was treated and released at Rochelle Community Hospital.

Both Wendel and the victim were located near the intersection of Illinois 251 and Route 38.

In court yesterday during a status hearing, Wendel was given a preliminary hearing date of July 6th in Oregon. At that time, he will plead guilty or innocent to the felony offense.

Wendel remains in jail in lieu of the $250,000 bond. Under the bond conditions, he can not have contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18 years old if he posts 10 percent of the bond.
