Rochelle park officials will meet in special session Monday at noon to talk about the intergovernmental agreement with the city dealing with the restaurant at the Fairways Golf Course. The gathering takes place in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Last Monday night, the board tabled the agreement. Board President Roger Bunger talked about their concerns that evening. They include the first right of refusal for the city along with some other legal matters.
The city council has approved the deal with John Scanlon who also has restaurants in Davis Junction, New Milford, and Rockford. Renovation work will exceed over $700,000 for the building.
The park district put together a committee that includes Bunger, John Dobbs, and BT Carmichael as they met with city officials earlier this week to talk about the agreement.
The park board will meet in executive session Monday afternoon before a decision is made. That portion of the gathering is closed to the public.
Scanlon hopes to open the restaurant prior to Christmas for holiday parties and events.
