A Rochelle man has been indicted by an Ogle County grand jury in connection with a child abduction incident that took place last month.
26-year old James Salazar has been charged with the felony offense of child abduction and criminal trespass to a residence. The confrontation took place at a home in Hillcrest.
The child was not hurt from the incident and given back to the mother.
Rochelle police also arrested Salazar later that day on the charge of domestic battery and obstruction. He ran from police prior to being taken into custody.
The altercation took place in the 1,000 block of Garfield Drive in Rochelle. The female victim did not suffer any injuries.
Salazar also has a felony case involving 2 charges of retail theft.
He remains in jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Salazar returns to court on Friday for a status hearing which includes the possibility of increasing his bond.
