School officials in Oregon approved a new union contract this week with the support personnel association in the district. The former agreement expired June 30th of last year.
Superintendent Tom Mahoney said that the pay increase would be 25 cents per hour over the 3-year agreement which ends after the 2017-18 school year. The total increase would be 75 cents per hour.
Substitute teachers will be making more money per day in Oregon this fall. Non-retirees will receive $95 per day and retirees $100. The former pay scale was 80 and 85 dollars for substitute teachers.
The cooperative agreement was approved with the Meridian School District as they share a technical director.
The district will also see a decline in their costs involving their property and liability insurance coverage of $20,000 by switching companies.
