The Rochelle Township High School board approved the resignation last night of Head of Maintenance Keith Lamb. He had been with the district for 16 years.
Lamb has been named the new Director of Facilities and Grounds at Kishwaukee College in Malta. Tis is a new position at the college.
Lamb has also been the Girls Head Soccer Coach for the past 15 seasons and former Boys Head Soccer Coach.
The board approved a change in recognizing academic performance as the district plans to phase out the valedictorian and salutatorian honors. Superintendent Jamie Craven said they plan to use the collegiate system to honor students in the classroom. It begins with the graduating class of 2017
Lunch prices will remain the same for students next fall. Marty Brennan was also reappointed as the treasurer for the district while their attorneys will remain the same. The cost for the district's auditor will not exceed $13,000.
The RTHS board will continue to meet the 3rd Monday of each month for the next fiscal year. The only change would be February and April of next year in which the meeting will take place the next day due to a holiday.
