No one hurt in Kingston house fire Sunday morning

In area news, no one suffered any injuries early yesterday morning following a house fire in rural Kingston.

The blaze was noticed a short time after 1AM at 11525 Baseline Road in DeKalb County.

Authorities say that the family awoke to popping sounds and discovered a fire on the porch located on the north side of the home.

They attempted to put out the fire with a garden hose prior to area fire departments arriving on the scene.

The initial investigation is pointing towards a possible electrical issue which caused the flames.

11 area fire departments responded to the scene yesterday morning which included Lynn-Scott Rock, Malta, and Monroe Center.

The home suffered extensive damage from the fire. The Red Cross responded to assist the displaced family of 4.
