Property bills due this week in Ogle County

Property owners in Ogle County are reminded that the first installment on their tax bill is due this Friday.

Nearly 29,270 bills were mailed in May as Ogle County expects to collect 124.7 million dollars. That's an increase of more than 5 million dollars from a year ago.

A couple reasons behind the higher figure is due to the value of farm land in the area along with the first year of the ambulance tax for residents in Oregon.

Property owners can pay their tax bill in cash or check payable to the Ogle County Collector. You can pay in person at the clerk's office in Oregon or at area financial institutions.

Mailed payment must be postmarked by this Friday.

Area residents can also use the county's online credit card payment program at
www.oglecountytreasurer.org or www.oglecounty.org.
