City and Park officials in Rochelle appear to be getting close involving an agreement for the purchase of the building at the Fairways Golf Course for a possible restaurant.
Beacon of the Green was the last restaurant in the facility as they closed their doors in March of 2015.
Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson talked about the project yesterday on the program "Let The People Know" He said that a contract is being drawn up for the individual who owns businesses in New Milford, Davis Junction, and Rockford.
His plans are to gut the inside of the building during the renovation work.
Olson said that the individual would buy the building and pay for the renovation. The city and park district hope an agreement can be reached in the next few weeks.
The building will still be used for golfing events this summer.
City Manager David Plyman talked with park officials last Monday night involving the proposed contract.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
