Ogle County officials buy more property

Following an executive session yesterday evening, the Ogle County board approved the purchase of a house at 507 Jefferson Street near 6th Street in Oregon. The home is near the Judicial Center.

The price tag for the property was $65,000. No final decisions have been made at this time on what the land will be used for in the future.

County officials approved 3 special use permits last night. 1 involved a motor carrier facility that will be located near Forreston along Route 72.

The 2 other special use permits were for Polo Cooperative Association involving anhydrous amonia storage and distribution facilities on West Branch Road and Route 26.

2 salaries were established dealing with the position of Circuit Clerk and Coroner. Starting on December 1st, the Circuit Clerk will make $78,412 a year while the Coroner at $65,000. Pay increases will be at 3%, 2%, and 2% in the following 3 years.

The county has hired an architect firm at a cost of of no more than $9,000 for a floor plan involving the building at 510 Lincoln Highway in Rochelle. The county plans to move the Health Department and probation employees into the facility.

Rochelle Community Hospital is the former owner of the building.

Appointments last night included Nicole Fry-Rueff to the Board of Health along with Mitch Montgomery of Rochelle to the Board of Review and Naomi Baldwin of Rochelle to the Civic Center Authority.
