The financial status for the district topped the discussion last night for the Rochelle Township High School board.
The board first amended the current budget due to some added expenditures. They include the hiring of a new Technology Director and the purchase of cafeteria tables. Superintendent Jamie Craven said that the district saw a deficit of $430,650 in all funds for this current fiscal year.
Craven also talked about the next fiscal year budget which included potential revenue challenges and expenditures. Several bills in Springfield will have an impact on the district if approved by lawmakers.
No decisions have been made on a possible digital sign in front of the school along Flagg Road. The cost ranges from $36,000 to $74,000. An exact location has not been finalized.
The district also plans to take bids for the 30 cafeteria tables that have been replaced. Several local organizations have shown interest in the purchase of the tables.
